Depending on the TLD (domain extension, for example: .de or .com), a domain transfer takes different amounts of time. But even with domains that are moved within a few minutes, it should be noted that it can take up to 24 hours until the DNS information has been updated worldwide.
During this time, website visitors and e-mails may still end up on the server of the previous provider or the new provider. Unfortunately, we cannot influence the update speed, as this depends on the operators of the name servers (for example, your Internet provider). However, our experience so far is that the majority of visitors and e-mails end up on the new servers after just a few hours.
.de/.at/.eu Domains
With these TLDs, a domain transfer usually takes place within a few minutes after initiating the transfer with the correct auth code. However, as described above, it can still take some time until emails and website visitors land on the new servers.
.com/.net/.org/.info./biz Domains
For these domain endings, and others where applicable, a different procedure applies when transferring the domain to a new provider.
After you have applied for the domain transfer at Plambee.de with the correct auth code, the domain holder deposited with the domain will receive a so-called FOA e-mail (Forms of Authorisation). This e-mail contains a link which the domain holder must click on to confirm the domain transfer, otherwise the domain transfer will not be started.
From this point on, your previous provider still has 5 days to object to the domain transfer (NACK). If your provider does not object, the domain will be transferred automatically after 5 days.
If you do not want to wait 5 days, it may help to ask your current provider to manually agree to the domain transfer (ACK) in order to initiate an immediate transfer. Unfortunately, we cannot influence this.
After the transfer, it will take a while until the DNS information is updated worldwide, as described above.
